Error Code Blackberry 101
Kerusakan pada Java Virtual Machine (JVM) yang menyebabkan terjadinya kegagalan start-up.  Blackberry akan memulai kembali proses start-up agar tindakan yang tepat dapat diambil oleh device itu sendiri guna menangani masalah.

Error Code Blackberry 102
Pada saat start-up, system akan melakukan pengecekan terhadap file-file .cod. Hal ini diperlukan untuk mengetahui modifikasi yang telah dilakukan. Jika terjadi masalah pada file-file .cod tersebut maka Blackberry tidak akan menyala atau terjadi proses reset terus menerus. Solusinya lakukan tindakan wipe atau mengganti system dengan yang baru.

Error Code Blackberry 103
Lokasi penempatan file boot.cod tidak ditemukan. Penyebabnya, karena kerusakan pada file tersebut atau memang file belum ter-install. Atasi dengan proses wipe.

Error Code Blackberry 104
Kode kesalahan exception digunakan untuk menghentikan kesalahan yang sedang terjadi dan ditemukan oleh JVM. Kode kesalahan ini dapat kita ketahui dengan cara menghubungkan Blackberry ke computer desktop lewat kabel USB. Gunakan fitur Window Event Viewer pada PC untuk melakukan pelacakan aktivitas terdahulu.

Error Code Blackberry 105
File system API (Application programming interface) menemukan adanya masalah pada operasi tertentu. Kemungkinan disebabkan adanya kerusakan pada file system atau kerusakan pada JVM. Gunakan cara wipe untuk memperbaikinya.

Error Code Blackberry 106
Ditemukan kerusakan pada system grafik Blackberry.

Error Code Blackberry 107
Kerusakan internal pada JVM. Bahasa pemrograman C++ pada JVM melakukan proses coding yang salah. Hal ini berasal dari VRamObject yang menggunakan operator baru. Biasanya terjadi ketika pengguna mengganti ponsel dengan kartu SIM yang sama, tapi hal ini jarang terjadi. Gunakan cara wipe untuk memperbaikinya. Jika tidak bisa, hubungi operator seluler kartu SIM anda.

Error Code Blackberry 108
Kerusakan internal pada JVM. Bahasa pemrograman C++ pada JVM melakukan coding yang salah. Hal ini berasal dari VRamObject yang operatornya baru saja di delete atau dibuang. Biasanya terjadi ketika pengguna menggunakan kartu SIM berbeda di ponsel yang sama, tapi hal ini jarang terjadi, gunakan cara wipe untuk memperbaikinya.

Error Code Blackberry 109
Kerusakan internal pada system operasi.

Error Code Blackberry 110
Kerusakan pada system akumulasi penghitungan lama waktu JVM berada dalam posisi diam. Hal ini bisa terjadi lantaran adanya kerusakan pada firmware yang anda gunakan atau kerusakan pada JVM. Kemungkinan juga bisa terjadi karena Blackberry anda sudah digunakan selama lebih dari 400 hari (waktu device)

Kerusakan yang ditemukan pada system font Blackberry anda.

Error Code Blackberry 112
Kerusakan yang dideteksi pada Java Native Code.

Error Code Blackberry 200
Sistem application manager menemukan kerusakan pada salah satu aplikasi dan tidak dapat meneruskan prosesnya.

Error Code Blackberry 201
Kegagalan pada saat proses membaca system cryptographic dan Blackberry tidak dapat meneruskan prosesnya.

Error Code Blackberry 202
Kerusakan pada system kunci/tombol yang telah disimpan sebelumnya dan Blackberry tidak dapat melanjutkan prosesnya.

Error Code Blackberry 203
Terjadinya kerusakan total pada bagian konsol dari application manager. Hal ini menyebabkan muncul kode exception yang berakibat berhentinya suatu proses.

Error Code Blackberry 501
Kode yang digunakan oleh Virtual machine (VM) untuk menginformasikan kerusakan yang terjadi pada internalnya.

Error Code Blackberry 502
Proses Java yang terakhir dijalankan dihentikan oleh device karena suatu hal tidak ada lagi yang dapat diproses lebih lanjut.

Error Code Blackberry 503
Kode yang digunakan oleh Virtual Machine (VM) untuk menginformasikan kerusakan yang terjadi pada internalnya.

Error Code Blackberry 504
Kode yang digunakan oleh Virtual Machine (VM) untuk menginformasikan kerusakan yang terjadi pada internalnya.

Error Code Blackberry 505
Terjadinya kerusakan pada bagian compiler JIT.

Error Code Blackberry 506
Munculnya kode kerusakan Java Exception. Seperti telah diinformasikan sebelumnya bahwa kode exception muncul ketika kerusakan yang terjadi pada system telah dihentikan. Kali ini kode tersebut muncul pada JAVA.

Error Code Blackberry 507
Dependensi atau file-file yang dibutuhkan untuk mendukung jalannya suatu aplikasi tidak ditemukan. Solusi untuk membetulkannya adalah dengan memasukkan ulang file .cod yang dibutuhkan ke dalam Blackberry.

Error Code Blackberry 508
Masalah ditemukan oleh perintah debug dari VM.

Error Code Blackberry 509
Munculnya kerusakan system akibat sebulah file .exe dijalankan berkali-kali sampai melewati batas maksimal yang sanggup ditangani oleh device.

Error Code Blackberry 510
Kerusakan yang muncul akibat adanya beberapa file di dalam system menunggu munculnya objek yang diperlukan. Hal ini mengakibatkan deadlock atau keadaan diam tanpa proses apapun.

Error Code Blackberry 511
Kerusakan terdeteksi ketika proses debug sedang berlangsung. Kerusakan ini bisa terjadi karena adanya masalah pada VM datau perintah debug yang dikirim ke VM.

Error Code Blackberry 512
Kerusakan yang muncul ketika proses pengumpulan file-file yang tidak dibutuhkan berlangsung. Hal ini terjadi karena pengguna device menjalankan sebuah operasi tertentu, missal menekan tombol keyboard, menggeser trackball, dan lain-lain

Error Code Blackberry 513
Masalah pada opcode atau operation code tertentu. Problem ini memerlukan eksekusi class lainnya agar dapat meneruskan proses sendiri.

Error Code Blackberry 514
Class baru telah terdeteksi keberadaannya dan harus dikenali terlebih dahulu oleh constructor sebelum dapat digunakan constructor dalam bahasa pemrograman berfungsi melakukan pengaturan terhadap berbagai jenis objek.

Error Code Blackberry 515
Kode kerusakan yang muncul akibat sebuah objek tidak dapat ditampilkan secara baik oleh JVM. Hal ini kemungkinan terjadi karena jumlah objek terlalu banyak atau ukuran objek terlampau besar.

Error Code Blackberry 516
Saat menjalankan “object yang tersimpan” (seperti cookies pada web browser), JVM mendeteksi bahwa counter (object yang berfungsi sebagai penghitung) penyimpanan tersebut telah mencapai limit. Jika ini terjadi maka object tersebut tidak akan dijalankan dan akan muncul critical error. Kesalah ini seharusnya tidak akan terjadi, kecuali jika sebuah device digunakan secara terus menerus selama bertahun-tahun.

Error Code Blackberry 517
Terdeteksinya ketidakstabilan pada “object yang tersimpan’ (seperti cookies pada web browser) oleh JVM.

Error Code Blackberry 518
Fase penanda garbage collection (GC) dihentikan melalui longjmp. Ini mengindikasikan bahwa fase penanda diinterupsi. Error ini seharusnya tidak terjadi karena proses dieksekusi saat device tidak dalam kondisi idle atau diam. GC hanya dapat diinterupsi pada saat device sedang idle. Gabage Collection dalam bahasa pemrograman berfungsi sebagai manajemen memori.

Error Code Blackberry 519
Tidak ditemukannya host JVM atau sedang di nonaktifkan.

Error Code Blackberry 520
Pernyataan internal system yang mengharuskan sebuah metode dari Java atau kumpulan perintah return Java untuk segera dijalankan.

Error Code Blackberry 521
Sebuah objek.wait() sedang dijalankan, dan proses tersebut menyebabkan objek lain terkunci. Biasanya ini terjadi pada simulator.

Error Code Blackberry 522
Sebuah thread mendapatkan dua lock yang tidak terurutan, yang mana salah satu lock tersebut dibutuhkan untuk melanjutkan proses. Hal ini mengindikasikan potensi deadlock. Pemeriksaan hanya dapat dilakukan pada simulator, menggunakan aplikasi switch JvmDebugLocks.

Error Code Blackberry 523
Berhentinya suatu proses penting di dalam Java karena sesuatu hal sehingga mengakibatkan device tidak dapat digunakan secara normal.

Error Code Blackberry 524
Ditandainya sebuah objek sebagai file recovery oleh low memory manager, tapi tidak dapat digunakan pada situasi garbage collection (GC). Hal ini hanya terdapat pada simulator yang ditangani oleh aplikasi JVMDebugLMM.

Error Code Blackberry 525
Rusaknya “objek yang tersimpan”. Proses auto-commit yang dijalankan selama garbage collection telah mendeteksi suatu objek yang tidak dapat dicapai dari tempat penyimpanan root.

Error Code Blackberry 526
Tidak ditemukannya objek java.lang.

Error Code Blackberry 527
Tidak ditemukannya string java.lang.

Error Code Blackberry 528
Kode kesalahan yang muncul akibat adanya kerusakan pada system file. Hal ini mengakibatkan data di device tidak dapat dikembalikan seperti semula.

Error Code Blackberry 529
Kode kesalahan yang muncul akibat adanya kerusakan pada system file. Sistem berupaya mengembalikan data semampunya. Namun tidak semua data dapat dikembalikan dengan sempurna.

Error Code Blackberry 530
Kode kesalahan ini menunjukkan objek yang berlebihan pada native JVM. Native merupakan metode berbagi kode-kode. Jumlah objek yang dapat dilindungi melalui garbage collection sudah dibatasi dalam hitungan tertentu. Jika terjadi kelebihan kapasitas maka akan muncul kode kesalahan.

Error Code Blackberry 531
JVM juga menggunakan memori flash untuk melakukan prosesnya. Jika JVM mendeteksi kapasitas pada memory flash sudah memet atau tidak mencukupi lagi maka akan muncul kode kesalahan ini.

Error Code Blackberry 532
Proses JVM assertion telah dilanggar. Tapi anda tidak perlu khawatir karena kode kesalahan ini hanya akan muncul pada bagian simulator dan bukan pada device yang sebenarnya.

Error Code Blackberry 533
Kode ini biasanya digunakan oleh EMAScript secara internal untuk memanggil Java Methode

Error Code Blackberry 534
Kode kesalah yang digunakan secara internal untuk mengindikasikan bahwa fitur reset secara cepat tidak tersedia.

Error Code Blackberry 535
Sebuah kode kesalahan yang menunjukkan kerusakan virtual machine sehingga tidak dapat digunakan lagi.

Error Code Blackberry 536
Kode ini digunakan secara internal untuk mengindikasikan VM structure melewati address yang salah atau mengalami kerusakan

Karakter Pengguna Blackberry yang Perlu Dihindari

Sekarang Blackberry sudah digunakan oleh berbagai kalangan. Blackberry yang awalnya digunakan hanya oleh para pembisnis dan karier, karena kehebatannya dalam push email, sekarang sudah digunakan oleh berbagai kalangan masyarakat. Sampai anak Sekolah Dasar juga menggunakan Blackberry.

Sebagai pengguna Blackberry, supaya tidak terlihat norak dan rada elegant sedikit, hindari karakter pengguna Blackberry di bawah ini.

1. Karakter Model

Karakter ini suka ganti picture profile tiap 5 menit. Mulai dari berbagai gaya dan pose, sampai foto keponakannya, binatang peliharaannya, karakter kartun kesukaannya. Efek dari karakter ini, teman di contact list nya akan susah mencari bila akan BBM atau email. Gimana nggak, picture profilenya sudah berganti gambar kucing anggora.

2. Karakter Buronan

Karakter ini suka ganti nama tiap 10 menit. Dari julukan yang tidak jelas, sampai menjadi status lebay dan galau. Padahal ada kolom nama. Atau namanya diganti menjadi "The most beautiful girl of the year".

3. Karakter kreatif

Karakter ini karena terlalu kreatif atau karena kurang kerjaan. Nama di profile pakai symbol-symbol yang gak jelas sampai susah dicari melalui kolom search.

4. Karakter Romeo & Juliet

Karakter ini type orang lebay dan galau. Status updatenya tidak pernah lepas dari cinta-cintaan.

5. Karakter Reporter

Karakter ini adalah type yang suka broadcast. Pokoknya broadcast brutal. Sembarang di-broadcast. Mulai dari nenek hilang, sepeda motor hilang, HP hilang, iklan jualan dengan alasan bantu teman broadcast, broadcast agama, sampai broadcast berantai, kalau nggak diterusin broadcasnya, bakal sial 7 turunan.

Catatan :

Broadcast seyogyanya tidak brutal. Mau broadcast boleh-boleh saja. Tetapi hendaknya dipilih kontak-kontak yang membutuhkan. Dan hendaknya setiap broadcast dicek terlebih dahulu kebenarannya.

Apabila di kontak anda ada yang berkarakter reporter dan anda merasa terganggu, tidak usah segan-segan, delete saja segera!

6. Karakter Teroris

Karakter ini sukanya BM berita-berita yang menyeramkan seperti yang terdapat di point 5,  broadcast berantai, kalau tidak menyebarkan akan mendapat musibah dan kutukan. Pakainya Blackberry, tapi kok tetap saja ada yang menjadi korban teror :D

7. Karakter Religius

Karakter ini suka mendoakan dan kirim kata-kata bijak lewat BBM.

8. Karakter Celebrity

Karakter ini suka ganti status update tiap 5 menit.

9. Karakter Jablay

Karakter ini suka BM ping atau test contact!

Catatan :

Kalau anda bermanfaat, tidak berlaku konyol, dan anda berarti bagi orang lain, pasti contact anda tidak akan dihapus. Tetapi, kalau anda adalah termasuk orang yang tidak menyenangkan dan melakukan hal-hal yang menyebalkan, tentunya banyak yang delete contact anda. So, hal seperti ini menunjukkan anda tidak PeDe dan anda tidak cukup berarti sampai-sampai takut kontak anda dihapus oleh teman anda.

10. Karakter Dis-orientasi

Karakter ini suka bikin status tidak pada tempatnya. Karakter ini tidak bisa bedakan mana kolom nama dan mana kolom status.

Opera Mini 5.1 untuk BlackBerry Internet Service (Full Service)

Anda pernah memperhatikan kalau pake Opera Mini 5.1 pulsa Anda tetap berkurang walau sudah berlangganan BIS Full Service? Ternyata secara default Opera Mini tidak memakai APN yang disediakan oleh BIS (blackberry.net) tapi memakai APN tersendiri.

Berikut adalah langkah-langkah untuk membuat Opera Mini 5.1 memakai APN Blackberry/BIS.
Jika Opera Mini 5.1 dalam keadaan terinstall dan mengurangi pulsa, silahkan uninstall/remove Software Opera mini 5.1 melalui :

1. Option => Applications => Opera Mini => klik Menu BB dan pilih "Delete".

2. Restart BB dengan Alt+Shift+Del atau dengan batre pull

3. Begitu BB up, masuk ke Option => Advance Option => Service Book => Provisioning [PROVISIONING] => Klik menu BB pilih “View” => Klik menu BB pilih “Show HRT” => Klik Menu BB lagi dan pilih “Register Now”.

Note : Provisioning ada 2, “Provisioning [PROVISIONING]” dan “Provisioning [OTASL]” jangan salah pilih.

4. Restart BB dengan Alt+Shift+Del atau dengan batre pull

5. Setelah Restart, Silahkan install lagi Opera Mini 5.1 langsung dari opera.com lewat browser BB.

Cara Membuat Autotext di Blackberry for Newbie

Di bawah ini adalah cara langkah demi langkah menyimpan autotext di Blackberry untuk pemakai Blackberry newbie.

Cara menyimpan auto text langkah demi langkah :

1. Pilih simbol yang mau dicopy. Misalnya simbol 
2. Highlight simbol yang akan kita copy dengan menahan alt (tombol aA) lalu naik / turunkan cursor. Atau bisa juga dengan tekan tombol alt (aA) lalu kursor dinaik-turunkan. (Tombol alt tidak perlu ditahan, maksudnya)
3. Klik menu, klik copy.
4. Compose new email atau masuk ke Blackberry Messenger (BBM), buka salah satu chat atau buat chat baru dari kontak.
5. Klik menu, klik edit autotext.
6. Klik menu, klik new.
7. Di "replace" : ketik ‘bb’.
8. Di "with" : klik menu lalu klik paste.
9. Klik return (back), lalu save. Atau klik menu, lalu save.
10. Cara test apakah sudah benar apa belum, ketik bb lalu ketik spasi, maka autotext yang kita buat tadi akan muncul.

Cara Recieved File Melalui Bluetooth Blackberry

Ini adalah cara terima file melalui Bluetooh Blackberry. Biasanya pengguna Blackberry newbie akan bingung dan kesulitan saat kirim dan terima file melalui bluetooth.

Ini cara dan langkah-langkah yang perlu diperhatikan :
Pastikan koneksi bluetooth di BB aktif, juga pastikan bahwa BB dalam kondisi visible atau discoverable alias bisa didetect oleh device/hp lain.

• Masuk ke menu Option
• Bluetooth tekan Blackberry Key,
• Ubah Discoverable ke posisi Yes.

Saat akan menerima file dari Handphone lain :

• Masuk ke Folder Media
• Pilihlah Folder dimana file yang akan diterima ingin disimpan (Music, Video, Ringtones, atau Pictures), setelah itu pilih subfolder (Device Memory, Preloaded, Media Card).
• Tekan tombol menu, pilihlah Receive Using Bluetooth. Atau cukup hanya masuk ke Media dan pilih Recieve Using Bluetooth.
• Setelah semua siap, langkah selanjutnya adalah kirimkan file dari hp/bb lain ke bb anda.

Ganti Blackberry Handheld Tanpa Ribet

Cara ganti Blackberry handhelp tanpa ribet. Bagi pengguna Blackberry yang awam, sering bingung kalau mau ganti handheld Blackberry. Yang terbayang pertama kali adalah kontak BBM. Harus add ulang contact di Blackberry Messenger, apalagi kalau contact-nya ratusan.... kan PIN ikut ganti kalau ganti handheld Blackberry. Belum pindahin data-data yang berjibun dari phonebook, autotext, calendar, bookmark browser, memopad, task, dan lain-lain.

Untuk menghindari itu semua ada caranya supaya kita tidak repot bin ribet :D


Yang pertama
Kalau kita beli dengan cara tukar-tambah, suruh aja dealer atau tokonya transfer data. Kita tinggal duduk manis :D


Yang kedua
Kita transfer sendiri datanya dengan cara:

1. Instal CD software Desktop Manager (CD software yang ada di box handheld)
2. Setelah software Desktop Manager (DM) terinstall berikutnya
3. Aktifkan Desktop Manager
4. Aktifkan handheld lama yang akan dipindah
5. Koneksikan handheld ke PC
6. Pilih menu Backup and Restore
7. Klick Backup
8. Simpan data pada hardisk (sebaiknya beri nama dan tanggal yg mudah diingat)
9. Setelah data selesai dipindah maka cabut handheld lama (diskoneksi)
10. Aktifkan handheld baru yang akan digunakan dengan simcard Blackberry anda.
11. Koneksikan handheld ke PC
12. Pilih menu Backup and restore
13. Klick Restore
14. Ambil data yg telah disimpan di hardisk
15. Processing restore data
16. Selesai

Walaupun dengan PIN yang baru, RIM akan secara otomatis link connect kembali ke semua contacts anda dalam beberapa menit termasuk recover blackberry groups anda. Process secara otomatis, anda sama sekali tidak perlu contact teman anda untuk add/reinvite. Dan teman anda tidak tau kalau ada perubahan PIN anda.


Untuk mengembalikan email setting, anda perlu masuk ke email setup dan ikuti langkah-langkahnya. Proses ini sangat simple. Anda tinggal memasukkan password email anda untuk konfirmasi dan pengaktifan.

Wipe HandHeld adalah mengembalikan Blackberry ke setelan awal pabrik. Wipe disebut juga Hard Reset.

Wipe digunakan apabila kita akan menjual Blackberry kita. Dengan cara ini semua data kita akan terhapus dan kembali seperti settingan awal dari pabrik. Seluruh kontak, dokumen, BBM data, email dan lain-lain akan terhapus semua. Pokoknya seperti awal settingan pabrik saat kita beli baru.

Wipe HandHeld ini tidak terpengaruh ke OS dan aplikasi yang sudah kita install. OS dan aplikasi akan tetap ada.

Saran : Lakukan backup di PC/Laptop dengan menggunakan Desktop Manager, aplikasi Blackberry yang ada di CD bawaan sebelum mem-wipe HandHeld kita. Ini untuk menjaga kalau ada data atau dokumen yang masih kita butuhkan dikemudian hari. Karena kalau sudah di-wipe, data tidak bisa diselamatkan.

Hasil dari Wipe adalah :

• Kontak Telpon di memory telpon (BlackBerry) terhapus.
• Dokumen di Memopad dan sejenisnya terhapus.
• Kontak BBM terhapus.
• Semua account email terhapus.

I am paranoid about security so I found this Knowledgebase article by RIM very useful. In this article RIM describes the exact steps you need to take to put your BlackBerry device in lockdown. It does not include instructions on how to encrypt the memory card and device memory but that is a straight forward menu option. If you are interested just leave a comment.

BlackBerry smartphones support individual security passwords between four and fourteen characters in length. The use of the password is designed to ensure that only the BlackBerry smartphone user can access the information stored on the BlackBerry smartphone.

The BlackBerry smartphone rejects less secure passwords, such as those composed of identical characters or those that consist of natural sequences (for example, 1234).

Set a BlackBerry smartphone password

1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
2. Click Security Options.
3. Click General Settings.Note: If you are running BlackBerry Device Software 4.0.2 or earlier, click Options, then Security.
4. Change the Password field to Enabled.
5. Display the menu and click Save.
6. Type your new password and click Enter.
7. Verify your new password by typing it again and click Enter

Change the BlackBerry smartphone password

1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
2. Click Security Options.
3. Click General Settings.Note: If you are running BlackBerry Device Software 4.0.2 or earlier, click Options, then Security.
4. Display the menu and click Change Password.
5. Type your existing password and click Enter.
6. Type your new password and click Enter.
7. Verify your new password by typing it again and click Enter.

Turn on password protection using the Security Timeout feature

Security Timeout is a feature that, after a predetermined amount of inactivity, will lock the BlackBerry smartphone automatically.

To enable Security Timeout, complete the following steps:

1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
2. Click Security Options.
3. Click General Settings.
4. Set the Security Timeout field to the amount of inactivity the BlackBerry smartphone is permitted before it is locked automatically.
5. Display the menu and click Save.

Note: Clicking Lock on the Home screen instantly locks the BlackBerry smartphone.

Unlock the BlackBerry smartphone

1. Press any key on the BlackBerry smartphone to display the Enter Password screen.
2. Type your BlackBerry smartphone password. Press Enter.

Important: If a password in incorrectly typed ten consecutive times, all data on the BlackBerry smartphone will automatically be deleted. This is a security feature.

Additional Information

When the Security Timeout feature is set for a longer duration than the Backlight Timeout feature, the BlackBerry smartphone will lock automatically when the combined duration of the features has elapsed. For example, if the Backlight Timeout feature is set to dim after two minutes and the Security Timeout feature is set for 20 minutes, the BlackBerry smartphone will not automatically lock until 22 minutes has elapsed.

Please note that in the following instructions BB refers to BlackBerry.

Note: This article referes to Passwords placed on Blackberry mobile phones to stop unauthorized access. This article will NOT allow you to sim unlock your phone to be used with any simcard/provider, to do so you must unlock your Blackberry using a blackberry sim unlock service.
Like many others you have a Blackberry that is locked by a BES, meaning you're unable to change certain settings, or install Third Party Applications then read on. Essentially, the problem is that your Blackberry has at some point been connected to a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server), and this BES has placed a restrictive Security Policy (or IT Policy) on your device. A quick check to see if this is the case can be done by going to Options/Security on your Device. If you see any references to IT Policy whatsoever, then you have a potentially restrictive IT Policy that can be removed.

The Disclaimer/Intended Use.

This guide is intended for use by people that own their own Blackberry, and for whatever reason, have inherited a company's IT Policy on their Device. Really, there are two scenarios where this guide is useful.

• Unable to make changes to the settings or install Third Party Applications. This includes attempting to unlock your phone using our unlock software and keep recieving "Cannot connect to phone" error.
• You have a Blackberry that was previously connected to a company's BES and, for whatever reason; you no longer intend to make connections to that BES.

If you're still connected to a Company BES, and simply want to install the latest and greatest Third Party Application I wouldn't recommend this approach. Go talk to your administrators and ask them to grant you the appropriate rights. There are two problems in using this guide to bypass your Company's Security Policy. Firstly, whenever you reconnect to the Company Server, your security settings will revert back to how they were. Secondly, and (perhaps) more importantly, you run the risk of getting fired.

Procedure

Step 1	Ensure the Blackberry Desktop Manager is installed using Blackberry Internet Service, and not Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you are unsure, it would probably be a good idea to uninstall the Desktop Manager and start again. If you don't have the CD that came with your Blackberry, the Software can be downloaded here.
Step 2	Download the file policy.bin and save it in your Blackberry installation directory (C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry).
Step 3	Wipe your Blackberry, creating a backup if necessary. Select Options/Security/Wipe on the Device. If this option is unavailable, you may have to install the latest software on your Blackberry. You need to Download and install the latest Desktop Manger Software, then the latest Handheld Software. Connect your device, open the Desktop Manager, select Application Loader, and follow the prompts.
Step 4	Close the Desktop Manager if it is open.
Step 5	From the Windows Start Menu select Run..., and at the prompt type regedit. In the tree on the left hand side, navigate to:  HKEY_Current_Users\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\PolicyManager  Right-Click the Policy Manager Folder and select New/String Value. Name the value Path. Now, Double-Click the Path Subkey and set Value Data to: C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\policy.bin
Step 6	Open the Desktop Manager.
Step 7	Connect the Device.

Verification

Once complete, the Options/Security screen on your Blackberry should not contain references to an IT Policy, you should now be able to change all settings (including password prompts), and install Third Party Applications

Tips Menjaga Password di BlackBerry

Jakarta - Untuk mengakses sejumlah account seperti email, Facebook, instant messaging terkadang kita sulit mengingat username dan password-nya. Mau kita langsung sign in otomatis terlalu berisiko, takut jatuh di tangan pihak yang tdak bertanggung jawab.

Nah untuk mengakali hal tersebut, kebetulan di perangkat BlackBerry sudah memiliki solusi. Fitur ini bernama 'Password Keeper', dan dijamin berguna bagi user yang memiliki banyak account dan password berbeda-beda di setiap account-nya.

Penggunaan 'Password Keeper' sendiri cukup sederhana, sehingga mungkin sudah bukan hal 'asing' di beberapa kalangan pengguna BlackBerry. Namun tidak ada salahnya juga toh jika kita berbagi bagi mereka yang belum tahu. 

Simak cara menggunakannya: 

1. Masuk ke halaman 'application' dan pilih ikon 'password keeper'. 
2. Ketik password dan ketik ulang kembali paswordnya untuk membuka aplikasi password keeper. 
3. Pada halaman password keeper yang masih kosong, tekan menu , lalu pilih New. 
4. Di halaman new password, tulis judul (title), username, password, website & note. 
5. Tekan menu, lalu pilih save. Daftar catatan password akan muncul dihalaman password keeper.
6. Ulangi hal tersebut jika ingin memasukkan data berikutnya. 

 
Mudah kan? Kini Anda tak lagi perlu dipusingkan ketika lupa password dan username salah satu account Anda. Selamat mencoba.

Install Theme and Application on Blackberry

There are few users each day wondering how to install themes and applications on your BlackBerry. It is somewhat difficult to answer them all with great detail so I apologize if someone has been waiting for my answer. For them and for those who come for new users of BlackBerry devices is made this tutorial that if you step seguiis life a lot easier and you can easily install themes and applications for your account. In his day and did a tutorial on this subject but not others and remember to update it from time to time.

First and foremost I must say that there are basically two ways to install themes or applications on your BlackBerry, and I say basically because there are more ways but the process would no longer be "natural" for calling in some way but at the end of this post will also be listed. As I was saying there are two ways of installation:

OTA, which means Over The Air, which are files that can install directly from your device. OTA files have a. Jad or. Jar

Via ZIP archive that is downloaded to your PC first and then with the help of Desktop Manager to be installed in our BlackBerry. Files that are installed using Desktop Manager have a. Alx and. Cod

Installing themes or applications via OTA.

Step 1

The first thing you have to do is see that we have sufficient coverage in connecting our radio to use our BlackBerry browser. I know it sounds silly but in more than one case I've seen people who wanted to download via OTA without having data connection available.

Step 2

Election OTA file to download. We have said previously that it is valid for subjects to applications. In this case, and for this tutorial I have chosen an application called BBGPS Golf extracted from the mobile version of our website.

Step 3

If you look good, the selection of links available for downloading the application OTA places, ie Over The Air, and ZIP so we'll just have to click on the link that puts it over the air from our BlackBerry browser to download the file.

Step 4

In the next step to see the following screen where we provide all the information on the application or topic, such as application name, version, vendor, file size and description of it. Once on the download button pulseis start installing the software.

Step 5

Once installation is complete click OK and the process is complete.

Note: Some applications or themes may need a reset of the terminal to work properly.

Installing themes or ZIP applications.

As we said at the beginning of this post, installing applications or issues will require our BlackBerry Desktop Manager (free software that offers Rim for the installation of applications, synchronization and backup to our BlackBerry device), if do not have it or you have lost the CD that brings your BlackBerry can get the latest version here. Mac users can do it here.

Step 1

First choose the link to download. In this case we will do the same application that we installed via OTA. So the first step is to locate the link that says Via ZIP as we see in the screenshot.

Step 2

Once you click on the link to download the application must keep in our PC, so we mark the Save File and click on the OK button. I personally keep the files on the desktop of my PC to have them always at hand but the location can be anything.

Step 3

After downloading the file should look something like this. So double click on the zipped file and extract the files. Alx and. Cod as shown in the second image.

Step 4

Open the Desktop Manager that you already have installed on your PC and connect our BlackBerry. The appearance should look like this ...

Step 5

Then press the first icon in the upper left, where I said semitransparent orange. Called Application Loader or application loader and when it is pressed the following screen will appear.

On this screen press the Start button.

Step 6

Once you press the Start button will appear the list of applications that have installed on your device. Now we must add the. Alx we unzipped earlier. So click on the Browse button marked in orange on the screenshot below and look for the file. Alx file you downloaded earlier in the location where it was saved.

Step 7

Finally, and once we have selected the file. Alx (for the file. Cod no need to worry because it will install only, so no need to select it) click on the Next button and the installation will start automatically.

Step 8

Once you finish the installation process proceed to close the Desktop Manager and disconnect the BlackBerry and we will have our application or theme installed.

Note: Some applications and / or topics may require a device reset to work properly.

I said at the beginning of this tutorial that these were the two basic ways to install themes and / or applications on our BlackBerry devices but there are other ways to do something unorthodox, but that would be discussed in another entry.

Hapus Data Sebelum Menjual Blackberry Anda

Mau ganti Blackberry dan menjual Blackberry lama anda, hapuslah dulu data-data di Blackberry lama anda.

Ini adalah cara Wipe Delete (menghapus) data-data di Blackberry lama anda setelah memindah data-data dan setting ke Blackberry baru.

Yang perlu anda lakukan adalah:

• Hapus contacts PIN Blackberry Messengers dari aplikasi BBM.
• Hapus contact list, hapus emails, messages, calenders dan lain-lain.

Caranya dengan Security WIPE handheld.

1. Masuk ke Option – Security Options – Security Wipe. Anda akan ada pilihan untuk wipe: Emails, Contacts dan lain-lain, User Installed Applications Media Card.
2. Kemudian ketik text “blackberry” untuk konfirmasi wipe.

Cermat Membeli Blackberry

HATI-hati membeli Blackberry. Meski kardusnya masih bersegel, BlackBerry yang Anda beli belum tentu barang baru. Agar tidak tertipu, coba baca petunjuk berikut ini.

1. Beli produk bundel

Menurut Corporate Communications Telkomsel Suryanda Stevanus, cara paling aman ialah membeli handset BlackBerry yang bergaransi resmi operator mitra BlackBerry di Indonesia seperti Telkomsel, Indosat, XL, Axis dan Tri. Alternatif lain ialah beli di dealer resmi BlackBerry seperti Teletama Artha Mandiri.

2. Kenali istilah

Jika harus membeli handset BlackBerry di luar operator, Anda sebaiknya mengenali istilah brand new in box (BNIB), 14 hari, refurbished dan bekas (second). BNIB berarti ponsel benar-benar baru dan masih dalam kemasan bersegel. BlackBerry 14 hari adalah barang baru yang dikembalikan pembelinya karena suatu alasan. Kemasan BlackBerry 14 hari biasanya sudah tidak bersegel dan terbuka. Sedangkan refurbished adalah handset BlackBerry yang dikemas ulang dengan casing, boks dan perlengkapan lain seperti baru. Dan, BlackBerry bekas ialah ponsel yang sudah pernah dipakai. Sebelum membeli, tanyakan status ponsel kepada penjual karena akan berpengaruh pula terhadap harga jual.

3. Perhatikan PIN dan IMEI

Pastikan nomor PIN dan IMEI yang ada di handset BlackBerry sama dengan PIN dan IMEI yang ada di kardus pembungkus. Untuk melihat PIN dan IMEI yang ada di handset BlackBerry bisa dilihat di stiker yang terdapat di bagian belakang setelah baterai dilepas atau melalui menu Option-Status/Alt+Cap+H.

4. Cek menu option-status

Untuk mengecek apakah BlackBerry benar-benar baru dan bukan refurbished, hidupkan BlackBerry, lalu masuk ke menu Option-Status. Setelah itu, ketik BUYR. Di menu tersebut akan muncul ‘Data Usage’ dan ‘Voice Usage’. Jika ponsel masih baru, ‘Data Usage’ dan ‘Voice Usage’ akan berisi angka nol atau mendekati 0. Jika angka yang muncul tergolong masih sedikit, misal 2,5 Kb, BlackBerry mungkin dibuka untuk kebutuhan unlock.

Cara membedakan Blackberry Refurbish, BM dan Resmi

- Dos :

Refurbish : Sablon dus kasar, dibagian bawah biasanya tidak terdapat notifikasi hak paten dalam berbagai bahasa, biasanya disisi kanan tidak ada stiker indentitas handheld.

BM : Sablon halus, dibagian bawah terdapat notifikasi hak paten dalam berbagai bahasa, disisi kanan terdapat stiker indentitas handheld, dus bergambar BB dan berlogo sesuai dengan vendor yg mengeluarkan/memproduksi blackberry tersebut (tapi ada juga yg hanya berwarna hitam seperti dus resmi).

Resmi : Sablon halus, dibagian terdapat notifikasi hak paten dalam berbagai bahasa, disisi kanan terdapat stiker indentitas handheld, dus berwarna hitam tidak ada gambar BB hanya ada tulisan Blackberry di bagian atasnya.

- Logo :

Refurbish : Biasanya logo pada bodi & welcome screen & Internet Browser tidak sesuai dengan di dus (ex : di BB pada satt welcome screen keluar tulisan T- Mobile tapi dus polos / bukan dus keluaran T-Mobile, di Body BB ada tulisan T-Mobile tapi dus polos / bukan dus keluaran T-Mobile, di Internet browser ( selama masih memakai themes standard ) berlogo T- Mobile tapi dus polos / bukan dus keluaran T-Mobile).

BM : Logo pada bodi & welcome screen & Internet Browser sesuai dengan di dus (selama masih memakai themes standard).

Resmi : Tidak ada logo pada bodi & welcome screen & Internet Browser, kecuali bb keluaran indosat n axis (info dari bro pynatih)

- Pin & Imei :

Refurbish : Biasanya PIN nya tidak tetap / dynamic (berubah-ubah), IMEI ketika di cek di numbering plans biasanya tidak sesuai dengan device.

BM : PIN tetap / static, IMEI ketika di cek di numbering plans sesuai dengan device dan vendor, tetapi untuk beberapa jenis Blackberry ada yg belum tercatat di database numbering plans sehingga akan keluar informasi "This IMEI number might to be correct, but it is impossible to get this confirmed".

Resmi : PIN tetap / static, IMEI ketika di cek di numbering plans sesuai dengan device, tetapi untuk beberapa jenis Blackberry ada yg belum tercatat di database numbering plans sehingga akan keluar informasi "This IMEI number might to be correct, but it is impossible to get this confirmed".

Untuk menggunakan shortcut Blackberry, kita harus mengaktifkannya dulu. Cara mengaktifkan shortcutnya Adalah sbb:

Blackberry Important Shortcut

Ini beberapa shortcut yang harus diketahui pengguna Blackberry.

• Melihat PIN kita caranya ketik mypin + space.
• Tampilkan tanggal dan hari sekarang caranya: ketik LD + tekan space.
• Informasi PIN - IMEI - VendorID - FreeMem - Versi OS - etc, caranya dari Homescreen, tekan tombol “ALT” + “Aa” + “H” bersamaan.
• Melihat OS BB kita, ketik: myver + space.
• Memisahkan SMS dengan Email: Messages - Menu - Options - General Options - ke “SMS and Email Inboxes” pilih Separate.
• Me-restart Blackberry hang caranya, Pencet tombol “ALT” + “Aa” + “DEL” bersamaan.
• Cek blackberry kena IT Policy, baru atau second, caranya buka menu - Options - Status - ketik “BUYR”. Lihat “Data Usage” dan “Voice Usage”. Kalau kena IT Policy, tulisannya: “IT Policy”. Kalau tidak kena IT Policy, tulisannya akan menunjukkan jumlah pemakaian Blackberry.
• Cek Status blackberry locked atau unlocked, caranya buka menu - Options - Advanced Options - Sim Card - ketik “MEPD”. Akan muncul baris2 baru. Blackberry yang statusnya unlocked, akan berstatus “Disabled” semuanya.

Cara mengubah Signature Email Blackberry

Cara merubah signature email Blackberry.

Caranya mudah:

1. Masuk ke Setup
2. Pilih Email Settings
3. Pilih email yang sudah ada, klik Menu BB dan pilih Edit.
4. Scrool ke bawah, pada kolom Signature, edit sesuai keinginan
5. Save
6. Isi password konfirmasi. Isi dengan password email tersebut.
7. Proses done.
